I’m James Chesterman (Jimmy), a licensed electrician and the owner of Chesterman Electrical Services.

I’ve always been the kind of person who loves figuring out how things work and solving problems. After school, I became a qualified auto mechanic, but I was always more drawn to the electrical side of things. Before long, I swapped getting my hands stuck in engine bays for crawling under houses, completed my electrical apprenticeship, and never looked back, building a career I genuinely enjoy.

That same curiosity still drives me today. I love learning, keeping up with new technology as our industry rapidly evolves, and finding smarter ways to make homes safer, more efficient, and more comfortable. I genuinely love the work I do and the people (and pets!) I get to meet along the way. I’m proud to serve families right across the Northern Rivers.

On the tools, what matters most to me is delivering work of the highest quality. I take real pride in attention to detail, and every job gets the same care as if it were my own home. I don’t walk away until I know it’s done right.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me at the beach or spending time with my family, including our three senior dogs: Nancy and Bowie (greyhounds) and Thelma (staffy) who definitely run the house.
